We decided to take out first legal action. We called an emergency general meeting, in accordance with the law. Nurgazy Nurgaziev did not attend, even though it is required by law. We then sought assistance from the Prime Minister’s office. Prime Minister’s office did help, but unfortunately things did not go as planned.
We decided it was time to ask Financial Police to investigate. We could contact them ourselves but decided not to considering how such organisations work. We enlisted Ministry of Economy’s support. At that time, there was a department in the Ministry dealing with investment related issues. That department no longer exists. Now there is the National Investments Agency.

This was investigation number one. If you have read previous articles, you will know that things never go as planned. The case was closed even before it was investigated.
In 2012, a new Prime Minister was elected. A new Prime Minister usually means changes to structures, personnel and many other areas. The Financial Police was considered to be corrupt and ineffective. The Prime Minister decided to shut down Financial Police. So few months after our case was opened, Financial Police got shut down and so was our case.
All our efforts to get a case opened was futile. We never anticipated that Financial Police would be shut down.
For a few months, there was no organization investigating financial crimes until the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (GSPEB) was opened. GSBEP was set up to work as a well-oiled machine, free from corruption and delivering results. At least that was the plan. More on this in the next article.
